Printing with King Charles III.

On July 7th 2022 Aidan Saunders was invited by Hay Castle to demonstrate Linocut printmaking to King Charles on their Columbian Printing press during his royal visit to Hay on Wye.

The Columbian press 1853 was initially designed for typesetting but is perfectly adept for his lino needs. The print was inked by Aidan, pressed by HRH and together executed a ‘perfect’ print which was signed by them both and to be put in a time capsule!
